The Center Sport Therapy Judo Ravenna, been born in 1983 like Polisportiva Judo Ravenna thanks to the collaboration and aid of the province of Ravenna, the Municipality and the CONES, is pioneer in Emilia Romagna in the field of the starter to the motorio-sport education of the disabili, it carries out own activity from 1° the 30 October to May in knows it martial limbs of the palazzetto of the sport “To. Coast” and near the communal swimming pool.

Successively the Polisportiva Judo Ravenna is uniform forming two society, one that has taken to the name of Center Sport Therapy Judo Ravenna that works exclusively with the disabili, the other Judo Ravenna that works alone with the normal schools.

The Judo Ravenna and the Center Sport Therapy Judo Ravenna, have been delivered up in order to promote the spread of the practical sportswoman which straight of all the citizens, they are normodotati are bearers of sensory handicaps, lie them or neuromotori, so that the sport is asserted also in our Country like social service. The center addresses all the subject bearers of handicap, in particular psychical way, without age limitation.

The activities carried out from the Center Sport Therapy Judo Ravenna, are not limited to the therapy carried out in arena but also they are finalized in the participation to national regional manifestations sport and also. The sport activities that come carried out from the Society are Judo, track-and-field, swim, artistic gymnastics.

In these years the society always has grown, leaving in 1983 with a single athlete arriving today with 50 athletes, persons with great motorie, psychical difficulties and of socialization. The work of our instructors is served, and serves, to the improvement of the motoria activity in the boys but also to not only make to live they a normal life organizing also the sport extra activities which suppers, festivities, vacations etc…

 Our enrolled one they are more than forty, boys and girls of age comprised between the 5 and 40 years, generally affections from a handicap lie them serious or medium serious that often renders the relationship directed with the teachers necessary, whose varied number, therefore, according to the necessities of the students. Next therefore to the original nucleus of the five instructors with seniority and decennial experience others come to place side by side themselves that acquire specific competences through activity formation details are theoretical that practical.

The lessons are carried out once to the week near our arena.

As of custom in the end of every trimester manifestations and encounter with the other groups are organized ravennati sportswomen in which it is possible to create the occasion for a real socialization with the normodotati ones and to emphasize the twofold sport and social valence of our activity.

We have indetto Special Olympics of track-and-field and swim to which mobilitations of enthusiastic volunteers for the wealth of the lived experience have joined coming squares from all Italy provoking. The manifestations are remained memorable of 1987-1988-1990-1993. Difficulties financial institutions have then limited our initiatives till 1998, year in which we have organized the First National Meeting of Judo, followed from a technical and scientific encounter-debate on the effectiveness of the practical sport motorio like therapeutic support in the rehabilitation of the disabile.

A nourished group of our athletes participates regularly and with great enthusiasm to the contests indette from the Italian Committee Paralimpico (CIP) in other cities distinguishing itself always for behavior correctness and in some cases for validity of result.

Thanks to the experience matured in year 2003, (European year of the Disabile) celebrated from our society with a great sport manifestation, “the days of the sport like integration”, the association means to promote every year, in the month of May, new encounter of study and sport.
To these manifestations National and International athletes will participate; to they normodotati athletes of the province of Ravenna will join. Our attempt is to awaken the public opinion on the rights of the disabili persons promuovendone a positive rappresentazione and to make of our city an always active yard of social integration.
